ON THE ORIGIN OF COMMON SALT.

...that the closer the sea is to the Ecliptic The path of the sun; here referring to the equatorial regions, the saltier it is. Experience in various places has taught that 4 pounds of seawater yield almost more than 1 pound of good salt original: ⊖, the alchemical symbol for salt. Furthermore, the sun boils the salt out of the foaming sea in great abundance upon the sandy shores there. However, the closer the sea is to the Poles, the less salt it yields, as is well known to all Northerners. It is also common knowledge how little—or with how little profit—the seawater original: 🜄, the alchemical symbol for water is boiled into salt there. For even though the water there is also salty, the solar rays original Latin: radii Solares are far too oblique, and thus their effect there is not as powerful as it is under the Ecliptic and its neighborhood, where the rays are direct.

§. 8. That the entire Air original: 🜁, the alchemical symbol for air is also filled with this delicate, heavenly, saline balsam is confirmed by all true philosophers with irrefutable reasons. They are even able to entice and attract this airy water—or wondrous salt original: ⊖—in considerable quantities through a certain "magnet" or attractive medium original Latin: medium attractivum. Should anyone think that such a magnet or attractive medium is itself saline (which is not the case among those practiced in nature), let them know that various very simple instruments are known to us. Through these, one may attract a great quantity of the airy fire original: 🜂 or airy water original: 🜄 from the heavenly Shamayim Hebrew: "Heavens"—which is fundamentally nothing other than fire, namely fire filling the air. Through a specific manual technique, one can separate this from all "airiness" and place this miraculous sun original: ☉, the symbol for the Sun or Gold before one's eyes—a thing known to very few, and its high utility known to even fewer. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated and proven by many that dew (to say nothing of rain, snow, and frost, which lack it just as little) is filled with this heavenly balsam of life or salt original: ⊖. Even the simplest people can experience this through gentle digestion In alchemy, "digestion" refers to the process of exposing a substance to steady, gentle heat and further separation.

§. 9. Indeed, when the Air original: 🜁 is not sufficiently filled with this heavenly salt original: ⊖—whether caused by direct Divine providence on account of human sins, or by long-withheld sunshine, or by many other accidents—the Air becomes entirely corrupted and enters into a state of rot. Then all of Nature must suffer: humans and livestock perish through contagious, pestilential plagues, and all plants wither. Hunger, grief, and general destruction arise, as has been abundantly known from the beginning of time until our own day. Conversely, it is known that during continuous sunshine without any rain, but with heavy dew, there have been the most magnificent, fruitful, and healthy times. The reason original Latin: Ratio is that the air was abundantly filled and impregnated with this celestial balsam of life or salt original Latin: ⊖ cœlesti.

Fire 🜂, Water 🜄, Sun ☉

Here I could also go a little further and leave a hint regarding the "Secret of all Secrets." I could point out, as if with my finger, what it is that the philosophers have called their "Universal Mercury" original: 🜔, the symbol for the "World Spirit" or Mercury. I could show how visibly, even tangibly (yet recognized by so very few), the Almighty GOD has placed the outflows of His power before our eyes. We behold it almost daily, yet He allows so few to recognize it because of their own fabricated wisdom and the resulting ingratitude. Indeed, through this Divine Fire original: 🜂 or Sun original: ☉, all things must be seasoned and preserved from temporal and eternal destruction for eternal glory. Indeed, even Christ our Savior and Mediator, the Divine eternal "Fiat" Latin: "Let it be done" or Word, was begotten and born from the Divine Fire original: 🜂 of Love from eternity for our eternal preservation. Without the actual and true enjoyment of this, we can neither exist temporally nor eternally before the vengeful fire original: 🜂 of His Majesty, nor be preserved for His glorious rest. This may be demonstrated and proven by countless testimonies from the Holy Scriptures original Latin: ex Sacris. See Genesis 5:24; Exodus 3:2, or 5:19 [sic, likely 19:18], 24:18, 32:29; Leviticus 9:24, also 13:1-2; Numbers 16:35; 1 Kings 18:38; 2 Kings 1; also 20:9-15; also 13:20-21; Isaiah 6:6-7; 1 Corinthians 3:12-15; and countless more passages, which are generally all misunderstood. Through the Microcosm The human being as a small-scale reflection of the universe or "Letter G" A reference to a specific diagram or coded point in the author's system, no small part of this immense secret can also be demonstrated and proven, as all true philosophers have written sufficiently.

§. 10. But in order not to become too entangled in these mysteries at the beginning, until GOD the Lord grants more light and grace, we return to the first proof: namely, that the salt original: ⊖ is generated by the sun, moon, and stars in the sea and brought to us. We speak of the sun, moon, and stars, which are, as it were, receptacles (and as proven above) into which the Divine outflow of Shamayim pours. This manifests as the heavenly Waters original: 🜃, here referring to the elemental principle—Mayim Hebrew: "Water"—or Fire—Esch Hebrew: "Fire"—or Air original: 🜁 in the Sun. The heavenly Water original: 🜃 or Mayim or liquid water original: 🜄, however, manifests in the Moon and the other Stars original Latin: Astra. Thus, among other things, that which is said of the fourth day's work in Genesis 1:14-18 is fulfilled: that there shall be two great lights, etc., one to light the day, the other the night, etc., also for the distinction of years and seasons, etc. Namely, that by day, the Sun scatters its fiery heavenly seed into the air. Then all the stars (each according to how it is specified by the Divine Will for the general harmony) draw this to themselves and transform it, each into its own kind and property. By night, however, the stars send such heavenly seed—received from the Father of Suns, which they have qualified into each specific species—to the Moon. Regarding the effects and sharp rays of the Moon, see Psalm 121:6: "The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night" original Hebrew: יוֹמָם הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹא־יַכֶּכָּה וְיָרֵחַ בַּלָּיְלָה. It says lo-yakkekah, that is, non percutiet te Latin: "it shall not strike you", namely the Sun. (This is to say that the sun shall not sting you by day, and likewise the moon by night; here, through the single verb lo yakkekah, equal effect and power are attributed to both the rays of the Sun and the Moon). The Moon then, as the lesser light and regent of the night, further congeals this into a cold watery seed and in the air...
