It has also been sufficiently proven before that this salt original: $\oplus$ is Fire original: $\triangle$ and Water original: $\nabla$, or Sun original: $\odot$, Moon original: $\mathbb{☾}$, and Salt original: $\oplus$, or Water original: $\nabla$—namely, the Universal substance, of which there is so much talk but so little true knowledge.
§. 11. Here, however, I am compelled to speak somewhat more circumstantially about the generation and birth of metals, and to seek their matrix the environment in which something develops as well as their birth and origin with the greatest precision. To do this, we must turn once more to the beginning of the general Creation, and prove more perfectly from it what was mentioned in Section 3, Letter a: namely, that Salt, in its innermost essence, is a substantial Fire original: $\triangle$. that the LORD GOD in the beginning created the Heavens and the Earth, or the Water original: $\nabla$, and that the Heavens original Hebrew: Schamajim are the "Principle of all principles" original Latin: Principium principiorum omnium. In Section 6, Letter c, it was said that the Earth original Hebrew: Arez is the "second secondary quality." In Section 10, Letter h, it was said that the Sun is the Essential Fire original Latin: ignis Essentialis, separated from the Heavens, just as the Moon etc. and the Stars are from the Essential Water original: $\nabla$ of the same.
§. 12. Now, for a better understanding of what follows, we must also speak more extensively of the Earth and its actual form. For this purpose, the following Universal Schema a diagram of the universe shall serve us fully. We do not wish to quarrel here with the followers of Copernicus or other astronomical sects regarding the truth of their systems, for here we have to do only with the lovers of Magic and Divine Truth; moreover, this Magical Schema will easily accommodate everyone’s opinion. There, then, A. B. is the Region of the Heavens original: Schamajim, which is called "Light" in Genesis 1, verse 5, just as the Deep is called "Night." Thus, both Light and Night are

waters are a sand-making and stone-making water, as shall be proven in the following. This must be especially well-noted, for much depends on this point in our proof. Now, we must first untangle ourselves here: namely, how it can be that Genesis 1, verse 1, says that the Earth Arez was the first separation out of the Heavens Schamajim, yet here it is said that this Virgin Earth Arez is an offspring of the Waters E. F. These stone-making or sand-making waters must necessarily have existed before this Earth, and thus would more rightly be called the "primary secondary quality." To counter this objection—that the Virgin Earth cannot be the "primary secondary quality" according to the literal sound of the Scripture—we must turn back and see what the Holy Text of Genesis 1:1 says: namely, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." And further, in verse 2: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Here, according to the text, it is undeniable that the Heaven and Water are always spoken of before the Earth. It is therefore crystal clear, both from these and the following words of the 9th verse, what we said above at Letter n, Section 12: namely, that these waters spoken of in the 2nd verse are precisely the sand-making and stone-making waters from which the Virgin Earth original Latin: Terra Virginea was generated, and from which the inhabited rocky, sandy, and loamy Earth D. E. was produced. In this context, Earth and Water are taken as one, so that, according to the text, one could not unfairly take both Water and Earth as the "first secondary quality."

§. 13. However, we wish to prove that the material Water (which is a sending-forth or offspring of the Cold Night or the waters of the Moon) is actually the primary secondary quality. (We must remind the reader, however, that we do not wish to include the Sun, Moon, and all other Stars among these four material beings or so-called "Elements." For as mentioned above in Section 10, Letter h, and Section 11, Letter k, the Sun is an extract of the Fire original: $\triangle$ of the Heavens, or a concentration of it, just as the Moon and other Stars are an extract of the Water original: $\nabla$ of the Heavens, and they differ...)
