ON THE ORIGIN OF COMMON SALT.

...how it is further generated has already been sufficiently proven above; indeed, that the outflows of the Sun $\odot$ The symbol $\odot$ represents the Sun or the "Solar" essence, Moon, and Stars are in truth original: "revera" nothing other than the Solar essence $\odot$ has also been enough proven above, and it will be spoken of even more strongly hereafter. However, a small reminder must be inserted here: namely, the closer the seas and all other waters $\nabla$ The symbol $\nabla$ represents Water are to the Poles, the more "Lunar" Associated with cold, moisture, and the feminine principle they are; and the closer they are to the Ecliptic The path of the sun; the equatorial region, the more "Solar" or masculine they are found to be.
Letter H. This is proven through these experiments: first, it is known to all the world that the sea-waters near the Poles are indeed salty, but they can only be boiled down into a decent salt $\ominus$ The symbol $\ominus$ represents Salt with great difficulty,
Letter I. due to a lack of masculine Solar seed. Secondly, take a piece of fresh meat and place it—on the side where the skin was—into a sieve or other perforated vessel, and then sprinkle the cut side of the meat with salt $\ominus$. This salt $\ominus$ will then melt and drip from the meat into a vessel placed beneath it. Continue this until the meat has taken in enough for its preservation original: "Conservation"; at the end, the salt remains lying on the meat as if dry and will no longer melt. For if you then coagulate the drained brine again, you will indeed get a salt $\ominus$ once more, but it will truly be of no more use, and one cannot salt the slightest thing with it for its preservation, because its noble masculine parts have escaped it and crawled into the meat, leaving nothing behind but the feminine watery seed. However, if this is once again animated by the Sun or by Fire $\triangle$ The symbol $\triangle$ represents Fire, it then yields a good salt once more. For the reason that the salt $\ominus$ finally remains lying dry on the meat—once it has taken enough for its preservation—and will no longer melt, is that the meat no longer draws the Fiery $\triangle$ parts from it. And thus it is perfectly true, and may be understood, what Christ our Savior
Letter K. says very thoughtfully in Luke 14, v. 34 & 35: Salt is a good thing; but if the salt has lost its taste, with what shall it be seasoned? It is useful neither for the land nor for the manure pile, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Letter L. Furthermore, mention was made above that the waters from our climates, when taken along on sea-ships under the Ecliptic, become thick and muddy. But when brought back to these places [the northern climates], they become thin again and burn like brandy original: "Brandwein"; this likewise thoroughly proves what we have just said: namely, that the closer the waters $\nabla$ are to the Poles, the more Lunar they are and lack the masculine Solar seed, with which, on the contrary, they are richly impregnated under the Ecliptic. Conversely, the waters loaded at Batavia Present-day Jakarta, Indonesia; a major hub for the Dutch East India Company and other well-situated places in the East Indies for the voyage home are said to remain good through the Ecliptic all the way to the Fatherland. Thus, our previous discourse is once again powerfully confirmed: namely, the closer the water is to the Ecliptic, the more Solar it is, and vice versa original: "contra".

Letter M. But before we break off here, we must once more take up the passage from Luke mentioned before and ask, with permission, what our Savior actually means by these words: But if the salt $\ominus$ has lost its taste, with what shall it be seasoned? Also Mark 9, v. 49: Salt $\ominus$ is good; but if the salt $\ominus$ becomes unsalty, with what will you season it? How then can the salt $\ominus$ lose its taste? And what kind of body original: "Corpus" does it then become? Again, what must that thing be with which one can season it and make it powerful again? Furthermore, it is useful neither on the land nor in the manure; what then does salt $\ominus$ profit us
Letter N. on the land or in the manure? Since it follows from the words of Christ that the soil would be dead if no salt $\ominus$ were in it. Now, whoever knows and understands this mystery, we pray that he keep it silent and secret from the "Coal-murderers" original: "Kohlen-Mördern"; a derogatory term used by true alchemists for "sophists" or clumsy chemists who destroyed materials with excessive heat and the destroyers of metals and minerals—indeed, the corrupters of Nature. The little that is known to us of this, we also wish to keep to ourselves. We fear, however, that because manure and similar filth are spoken of, few will trouble themselves to fathom such Divine mysteries; we will therefore seal these mysteries with the almost unfathomable words of our Savior when he says: Salt is a good thing etc. No one is good except God alone etc. For every man must be salted with fire $\triangle$: and every sacrifice is salted with salt $\ominus$; Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another. Mark 9, v. 48 & 49.

§. 19. So it remains then: that the essential effect and outflows of both Light and Night—as the Sun, Moon, and Stars—are nothing other than a Solar essence $\odot$, a fiery Fire $\triangle$ or a fiery Water $\nabla$ generated from the Sun as the Father in the Stars, and in the Moon as the Mother. Thus the action is in the Sun, which (as we have proven from the beginning until now) works nothing but the Solar essence $\odot$. That this Solar essence $\odot$ is an essential Fire $\triangle$—indeed, the most wonderful and swiftest thing beyond our reason—we prove with this entirely
Letter O. irrefutable principle: namely, if one concentrates the essential light (the solar rays original: "Radios Solares") through a good burning-lens original: "Brenn-Spiegel"; literally "burning mirror", one will find all too quickly in how few minutes it passes through the densest bodies, melts them into a salty $\ominus$ ash, and finally reduces them to a glass. This operation is truly more worthy of contemplation than many over-clever people might imagine. We have now sufficiently proven and demonstrated to the understanding person that
Letter P. essential Light, as well as essential Night, are a pure Solar essence $\odot$. Indeed, even the primary essential outflow of the living God is nothing other than such a thing (known to the true Philosophers and Theosophists, but not to the "slop-cooks" unskilled practitioners and Solar-cooks). And who can now [withstand] us...
