Saint Justin, philosopher and martyr. He was born in the year of Christ 103, and received the martyr's crown in the year 167 under the reign of Marcus Aurelius original: Mark = Aurel — the Roman Emperor and Stoic philosopher who ruled from 161 to 180 AD.. Page 49
Tatian, Justin's student, whose contemporary he was. He survived him by several years; but neither the year of his birth nor of his death can be specified. 78

Theophilus of Antioch. In his third book to Autolycus original: Autolykus one finds a chronology reaching up to the sixteenth year of Marcus Aurelius's reign; from this, one can reliably conclude the time when he flourished. 105
Clement of Alexandria. It is commonly held that Clement died at a great age around the first years of the third century. He must therefore have been born quite early in the second century. 116
Hermias. All good critics place him in the second century. 129
Origen. The great Origen was born in the year 185 and died in the year 253. Consequently, he lived into his sixty-ninth year. 138
