When one is pure and clear, with a heart united with his inner being, God literally "the white ones" or "the noble ones," likely referring to the pure of heart or the angels will fill them and comfort them with many comforts. He shall go to the rivers before the rising of the dawn, wrapped in a white garment, standing and walking barefoot. He shall mention the names of the angels who serve in that specific month and burn a portion of the offerings three times each day. On the third day, he shall take all the ashes and scatter them on the ground inside his house and sleep upon them. He shall recite over himself the names of the mighty, ordained, heroic, holy, and ruling angels, and then go to sleep. He must not speak with any person. Then the angels will come to him in the night in a vision and a sight, not in riddles, and they will inform him and reveal to him every matter which he asks without fear.
And after four generations had passed, Enoch son of Jared A biblical figure who "walked with God" and, according to tradition, was transformed into the angel Metatron arose. He gained wisdom through the fear of God and conducted himself in purity. He would wash and sanctify himself in living water original: mayim chayim; refers to a natural spring or ritual bath and offer supplications before the Creator of all. The Place original: HaMakom; a traditional Jewish title for God, suggesting He is the "place" where the world exists was revealed to him in a dream, telling him of the Book, the way he should conduct himself, what his work should be, and the holiness of his purity. He woke up and went to a cave and remained secluded until noon. From the strength of the sun, his soul entered there so that the people of the place would not perceive him. Before God, blessed be He, he prayed; he ascended in purity and took hold of the Pure Name. In the hour that he understood it, his eyes were enlightened in all his ways. He conducted himself by it and walked until he resembled the holy ones of the heights the angels. He was separated from the life of the earth, and "he was not, for God took him" quoting Genesis 5:24.
Because in this book he became wise and cunning regarding the cycles astronomical seasons or equinoxes/solstices and the constellations, and all the luminaries that serve in each and every month; the names called for every season, and the angels that serve in the four seasons of the year. He understood the names of the earth and the names of the heavens, and also the names of the sun and the moon. He increased his honor with all his strength and understood all wisdom even more than Adam, the first man. He understood that the generations coming after him would not have the strength to withstand its power, for it is immense and honored. He hid it away until the time of Noah, son of Lamech, who was a righteous and wholehearted man in his generations. In the six-hundredth year of his life, the earth was corrupted by acts of violence and generations of sin, and "all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth." The cry of the earth ascended to the heavens before the Throne of Glory of the Holy One, Blessed be He, and Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
And then Raphael the holy Prince the archangel Raphael, whose name means "God heals" was sent to him. He said to him: "I have been sent by the word of God to you, to heal the earth, to inform you of what shall be and what shall be done, and to provide escape." Then he gave him this Holy Book and made him understand how he should conduct himself with it, what his work should be, and the holiness of his purity.
And he said to him: "Hear the words of the Lord, for you have been found to be a righteous and wholehearted man in your generations. Behold, I have given you this Holy Book, and I have informed you of all its secrets and mysteries, so that you may use it in holiness, purity, modesty, and humility. From it you shall learn how to make an Ark of gopher wood a mysterious wood used for Noah's Ark, and you shall enter it—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives—to hide for a brief moment until the wrath has passed." Noah took the book from the hand of Raphael the holy Prince. At the moment he understood the engraved letters, the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him. He made the Ark in its length and breadth through the knowledge he gained from this Holy Name. Then it was heard by him: "Come, you and all your household, into the Ark, for I have seen you as righteous."
And then Noah son of Lamech hid the book before entering the Ark. Through its signs, he understood how to bring into the Ark two and seven referring to the clean and unclean animals, a male and his mate. The Lord shut the door behind him. The flood lasted forty days and forty nights. Then Noah opened his mouth with a spirit of wisdom and understanding and blessed the Lord God, the Great, Mighty, and Awesome King.
And he said: Blessed be the Lord who has given of His wisdom to those who fear His Name. Blessed is He who gives man dominion through his fear, who saves the souls of His pious ones, who hides those who take refuge in His shadow, and leaves a remnant to keep the vision alive. He gives His servants a spirit of intellect and understanding to speak with every man, beast, animal, bird, creeping thing, and fish, to make known Your strength and the greatness of Your power. From the great intellect he gained from this book, he knew whether it was day or night, and he knew the proper time for the food of every single animal. His prayer was heard before the Throne of Glory, and he and all who were with him in the Ark were remembered. God caused a wind to pass over the earth, the waters subsided, and the Ark rested in the Month of Radiance original: Chodesh HaZohar; likely referring to the month of Iyar/Ziv, known for its brightness upon the mountains of Ararat.
In the wisdom of this book, Noah conducted himself. He made it known to Shem, his son, for from it he gained understanding while in the Ark. Shem his son followed it and held fast to it in its holiness. After him, Shem delivered it to Abraham, Abraham to Isaac, Isaac to Jacob, Jacob to Levi, Levi to Moses, Moses to Aaron, Aaron to Phinehas, and Phinehas to his son, and so through all the generations, one after another.
And anyone who merits it—happy is he and it is good for him, for it has fallen to his portion and lot to know it and to gain wisdom from it. For it is not given to everyone, nor will all men understand or become wise through it, for wisdom comes from the fear of the Lord, and it remains with the wise man. A heart of understanding shall stand over its foundations. He who holds this book in purity shall not stumble, his face shall not grow pale, no enemy shall prevail over him, and workers of iniquity shall not confront him. He shall spend his days in goodness, and evil counsel shall be frustrated from him, for he has found a good life. Happy is he, for he has found life, and in his death, he finds rest. Demons and evil encounters shall not snatch him away, and he shall be saved from an evil person. Blessing shall come quickly to his house, and he shall tread upon the high places of his enemies. His name shall be remembered for good and blessing, for he was careful with the Holy Name. He shall find favor in the eyes of all who see him, and good success in the eyes of God and man. His soul shall be delivered from every evil death, for he practiced charity in his life and rebuked in secret. Fear shall depart from him because he gave his strength in secret before kings. He shall be praised for the uprightness of the Name of the King of kings, the Holy One, Blessed be He.
