Since the following Gospel original: "Euangeliũ" concerning the conversation of Christ with Nicodemus A Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin who visited Jesus by night to discuss rebirth; see John 3. is one of the most difficult of all, and is rightly understood by few, it could in no way be explained with brief words along with everything that pertains to it. Nevertheless, much here still remains outstanding Meaning some points have yet to be fully addressed.; but I have no doubt that if the reader, after offering a prayer, will diligently read all this with a zealous mind and a heart taught by God, and carefully consider it in the grace of Christ (to which I also wish to faithfully exhort them), they will not complain about the length or the abundance of these and other postils original: "postillen" — a postil is a book containing a series of sermons or commentaries on the appointed biblical lessons for the church year..
Instead, they will much more help to offer praise and thanks to God the Lord for His graciously revealed gifts, with fruit and benefit. However, at the end, a short sermon original: "Sermon" on this Gospel is also to be found; whoever is annoyed by the length may make use of that instead.
