The Renewal of the Evangelical Spirit

For one must (as q Scripture says) turn away from evil and do good.

This is why I have resolved to fully describe the state of corrupted man before I treat fully the state of a truly Christian soul, or the state to which God calls men in these last times, r wishing to renew his Evangelical Spirit original: Efprit Evangelique; the holy disposition inspired by the Gospel in the souls of All those who are willing to prepare themselves to receive it. For one must not imagine that God is partial s or that he will only grant this grace to a few in particular, since he wishes to do so for all those who will renounce themselves and not for others: as those miserable Predestinators original: Predeftinateurs; likely a reference to strict Calvinists who believed that God chose only a select few for salvation often try to suggest, who posit: that God has chosen some persons, and rejected others.
