Chalcidius was a 4th-century philosopher whose translation and commentary were the primary source of Plato's thought for the Latin West during the Middle Ages.
original: "Luculenta Timæi Platonis traductio... per Nebienſium Epiſcopum." The Bishop of Nebbio refers to Agostino Giustiniani, a noted polyglot and scholar.

Josse Bade, or Jodocus Badius, was one of the most prolific printers in Paris during the early 16th century. A "privilege" was an early form of copyright protection.
