THE LIBRARY

A woodcut-style bookplate for the University of British Columbia. The central shield features an open book at the top inscribed with the motto "It is yours" original: "Tuum est". Below the book are three wavy horizontal bands representing the sea, and at the base is a stylized sun with rays emanating upwards. The shield is set against a rectangular background with vertical hatching.
