The mathematical and astronomical commentaries were examined and corrected by Friedrich Hultsch, with the great learning and skill he possesses in those sciences: I declare with a most grateful heart that I am deeply indebted to both of these learned men. Friedrich Hultsch (1833–1906) was a renowned German classicist and mathematician known for editing ancient technical texts.
