The Animal kingdom extends from the Physical World into the lower regions of the Desire World.
Man extends from the Physical World through the Desire World and World of Thought, reaching up to the Human Ego in the Region of Abstract Thought.

In this system, "Group Spirits" govern the mineral, plant, and animal kingdoms from the higher planes. Only humans have an individual "Ego" that has descended into the physical world to gain individual consciousness.
