A rectangular engraved portrait of a young man, Andrew Jackson Davis Davis (1826–1910) was a prominent American spiritualist known as the "Poughkeepsie Seer.". He is depicted from the chest up, positioned slightly to the right of the frame and looking away from the viewer. He has dark, wavy hair brushed back and a dark chinstrap beard without a mustache. He is wearing a dark, textured coat over a white pleated shirt and a dark bowtie. The background of the engraving consists of fine, closely spaced vertical lines. Below the portrait is his handwritten signature.
