In our books concerning Occult Philosophy The three primary volumes published by Agrippa covering Natural, Celestial, and Ceremonial magic., we have declared the principle and rationality of Magic itself—not so much concisely as copiously—and in what manner experiments are to be drawn out and composed for producing any wonderful effects whatsoever. Truly, however, because in those books certain things are delivered more theoretically than practically, some also less completely, and others indeed figuratively and as if under an Enigma A riddle or obscure metaphor intended to hide secrets from the uninitiated.: so that at last those things which we have obtained with the highest study, diligence, and curious exploration might be explained to even the less experienced: Therefore, in this book, which we have composed as a completion and Key original: "Clavem"; a common term in grimoires for a text that unlocks hidden meanings in other works. to the books of Occult Philosophy and of all magical operations, we shall give to
