The first reason seemed to be this: because this author—just as in some of his other works he did not seem to speak entirely well of the immortality of our soul Pomponazzi’s 1516 treatise On the Immortality of the Soul caused a massive scandal by arguing that the soul's immortality could not be proven by Aristotelian reason, only by faith.—so too in this work, he appeared to many to hold questionable views regarding certain miracles commonly accepted within the Christian religion.
