The form is like a crocodile but with the face of a deer original: "मृगवक्त्रः" (mṛgavaktraḥ). It is of a movable nature and the earth element. It is gentle, a land-dweller, cold by nature, has little contact with women, and few offspring. It is of the air element The Sanskrit verse mentions earth, while the commentary notes air; in standard astrology, Capricorn is Earth, strong at night, the first half is a four-footed animal and the second half is a water-dweller. Aquarius has the shape of a water-pot. It is footless, masculine, strong during the day, has little contact with women, and few children. It is of a fixed nature, variegated in color, a forest-dweller, and of the air element. It has a smooth body, a heated temperament, half-voice, and balanced humors referring to the three Ayurvedic humors: wind, bile, and phlegm. It is of the Servant Shudra caste, lord of the western direction, an uneven sign, and has firm limbs. These are the characteristics of Aquarius. || 12 ||
The shape of the sign Pisces is two fish with the tail of one at the mouth of the other. It is a feminine sign, of phlegmatic temperament, the water element, and strong at night. It is without sound, of a tawny-brown color, and of a dual nature the first half acts as a fixed sign, the second half as a movable sign. It is a water-dweller with a smooth body, very fond of female company, has many offspring, and is of the Priestly Brahmin caste. It is an auspicious sign, lord of the northern direction, and an even sign. These are its characteristics. || 13 ||
