...so it shall be. || 26 || The ninth Vaisheshikamsha A specific system of measuring planetary strength based on how many favorable divisions a planet occupies is called Airavata. Now, the individual fruits of these positions are described. When considering the combination of the ten-fold divisions original: "Dashavarga", the learned recognize the "Distinguished Divisions" original: "Vaisheshikamshaka". || 27 || One born with a planet in the Airavata division becomes a universal monarch original: "Sarvabhauma" endowed with all forms of lordship and wealth. In the Devaloka division, one becomes a king, a lord of the earth, and a great performer of charity. || 28 || In the Paravata division, one becomes a regional ruler original: "Mandalika" and an expert in all classical sciences. In the Simhasana division, one becomes a great lord of the earth, praised by all. || 29 || In the Gopura division, one is eternally wealthy and skilled in all branches of knowledge. In the Uttama division, all manner of prosperity is attained. In the Parijata division, one is possessed of great riches. || 30 || In the Svansha The planet's own division position, one becomes famous, intelligent, and endowed with every happiness. || 31 ||
The experts declare that the Lagna The Ascendant or rising sign lasts for a duration of two and a half Ghatis A traditional unit of time equal to 24 minutes; 2.5 Ghatis equals one hour sequentially for the signs starting from Aries. The Pranapada A sensitive point in a horoscope related to life-force is calculated as one-fourth of a Ghati starting from the lord of the sign. || 1 || For the Sun, the calculation reverses from Sagittarius for two and a half Ghatis; for the Moon, it is also from that point. For Mars, the time is two and a half Ghatis sequentially, but from Taurus, it is just one Ghati in reverse. || 2 || For Mercury, it is one Ghati in reverse from Sagittarius. For Jupiter, it is five Ghatis downward from Pisces. For Venus, the duration is one Ghati starting from Gemini. For Saturn, the son of the Day-Lord... || 3 || ...following the reverse path, the duration is one Ghati. For Jupiter, it is two and a half Ghatis from Aries. For Ketu original: "Shikhi", it is the same from Pisces in reverse order. The noble teachers have described the results of these in other scriptures. || 4 ||
The states of the planets, such as "Infancy" and so on, are said to be sequential in odd signs and reversed in even signs. The states are: Infant, Youth, Adult, Old, and Dead, determined by the progression of the Amshas Degrees/divisions in groups of six. ||
