Chapter 2

The attendants present at the time of birth should be determined by the planets. If Saturn is situated there, the attendant is a woman of the laborer class original: "shudra"; if the Sun is situated there, she is a woman of the warrior class original: "kshatriya". || 61 ||

If Rahu or Ketu The North and South nodes of the Moon, often called the "shadow planets" are present, she is from an outcaste group; with other planets, she is said to be of a class equal to the family. In a dual-natured sign original: "videharashau", the lamp is held in the hand. The quantity of oil is told by the Moon, and the wick is determined by the Ascendant term: Lagna - the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth, according to some. || 67 ||
