Commentary— If the Lord of the Day original: "Dyunath," referring to the Sun is located in the seventh house from the birth sign, his wife will suffer from fever or distress. His own body will endure pain, and he will be filled with anxiety. If he engages in trade or financial dealings, he will see only small profits. Due to intense competition and jealousy, he will not even be able to sleep.
original Sanskrit: "Kriyalampatam kashtamekashtabhanjam..."
He is addicted to action, yet suffers great hardship; he seeks women from foreign lands and speaks improperly. His wealth is depleted by thieves, or he suffers from diseases of the private parts when the Sun is in the eighth house. || 8 ||
Commentary— If the Sun is in the eighth house, that man will remain constantly occupied with a single task and will become a mere vessel for suffering. He will take pleasure in women who have come from distant lands. He will consume forbidden foods. Because of various troubles from thieves and similar threats, his wealth will remain depleted, and he will suffer from severe diseases of the private organs original: "shishnagudas," referring to the genitals and anus.
original Sanskrit: "Divanatha ke dushtata kopanayaten..."
When the Lord of the Day is in the ninth, he acquires a wicked nature and anger; his mind finds no end to anxiety. Yet through penance, he surely attains high status in his actions, though he is tormented by his own brother. || 9 ||
Commentary— If the Sun is in the house of fortune the ninth house, that man's temperament will become wicked. The anxiety in his heart will never end. However, through the penance Tapashcharya: disciplined spiritual practice or austerity he performs, he will attain fame for his righteous deeds. He will experience distress or anger caused by his own biological brother.
