and even if he is alone, he will dull the luster of many enemies. He will become extremely radiant through his valor. His temperament will not be like that of his mother.

If the Moon literally: "the cold-rayed one" is in the seventh house, one gains wealth through travel or trade. He is devoted to women, enjoys sweet food, and has a greedy mind. If the Moon is of the dark fortnight, he is overcome by his enemies. || 7 ||
Commentary.— If the Moon is in the seventh house Saptama Sthana: the house of partnerships and marriage, the individual will experience excellent happiness from his wife. He will acquire wealth through trade related to travel or through his skills as a merchant. His affection for women will be great. He will be fond of sweet things, his mind will be covetous, and he will be lean of body. Furthermore, if the Moon is from the dark fortnight the waning phase of the moon, considered less auspicious in Vedic astrology, he will suffer defeat at the hands of his enemies.
original: "सभाविद्यते घोषजी तस्य गेहे..."
A gathering of physicians will be in his house; he may sometimes cook mung beans and rice to satisfy his hunger. Great diseases and fears arising from water occur; the Moon in the eighth house brings distress and calamities. || 8 ||
Commentary.— For one who has the Moon in the eighth house Ashtamstha: the house of longevity and obstacles, a gathering of doctors will always be present at his home implying chronic illness in the family. For his meals, he may only have mung beans and rice simple food prescribed for the sick cooked occasionally. He will suffer from major diseases. He will face great dangers from water. Thus, the Moon in the eighth house will cause him anguish and misfortune.

When the Lord of the Stars the Moon is in the house of penance, the subjects and the twice-born Brahmins praise that person. He becomes exceedingly fortunate from his youth; in his body and courage, he is like the Moon itself. || 9 ||
Commentary.— One who has the Moon in the house of fortune Bhagya Bhava: the ninth house, governing luck and dharma will be praised by the public and by Brahmins...
