They speak divinely among people; their bodies are praised as radiant, and even the most skilled physicians find their constitution difficult to fully comprehend. ||1||
Commentary:- If Mercury is in the first house at the time of birth, that person will be saved from untimely death. He will be highly intelligent. He will perform the work of a lawyer original: "vakiliche kam"; implying an advocate or legal representative. All people will praise his physical form, describing it as lustrous like gold. Those who are physicians term: Vaidya (practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine) will find themselves at a loss when trying to diagnose or treat him because of his unique constitution.
With Mercury in the house of wealth, one becomes wise and possesses great physical prowess. In an assembly, he shines like Vyasa himself. His generosity is likened to the Kalpavruksha, and wise men count him as one who enjoys life's pleasures like a bee among lotuses. ||2||
Commentary:- When Mercury is in the second house the house of wealth or 'Dhana Sthana', the person will possess great strength in his arms and valor. He will be highly skilled in imparting knowledge. When he enters a formal assembly, he will appear as majestic as the sage Vyasa the legendary author of the Mahabharata. He will be a donor as generous as the Kalpavruksha term: Kalpavruksha (the mythological wish-fulfilling tree). In matters of enjoyment and pleasure, that man will rival the black bee a metaphor for one who seeks the essence of beauty and pleasure.
Friendly with merchants, a performer of meritorious deeds, and of virtuous character; he subdues his misfortunes through wisdom. Humble and enjoying great pleasures, he may renounce the world or be supported by his younger brothers. ||3||
