If the son of the Moon Mercury is in the seventh house, he grants a man pleasure with young women and a contented mind in enjoyment. If he is not set not combust or hidden by the sun's rays, the man's body will shine like gold, and no one will be able to equal his wealth. || 7 ||

Commentary.— If Mercury is in the seventh house Saptamabhava: the house of marriage and partnerships, the individual will experience the pleasure of love with beautiful young women. At the time of enjoyment, he may have limited virility. If that Mercury is not "set" astangata: an astronomical state where a planet is too close to the sun to be seen, his complexion will be like gold, and no one will be able to match his riches.

Verse

Those who have the Prince Mercury in the eighth house live for a hundred years and become famous in foreign lands. They obtain treasure from kings or through trade, and they take great delight in playing with young women. || 8 ||

Commentary.— If Mercury is in the eighth house Ashtamabhava: the house of longevity and mysteries, the person will live for a hundred years. His fame will spread to other countries. He will acquire wealth from the king or through business dealings. He will be full of love and find joy with women.

Verse

With Mercury in the ninth house, one becomes virtuous and highly intelligent, a regular bather in the celestial river or one initiated in sacred rites. He illuminates his lineage like the sun and possesses more majesty than a king, acting as a source of trouble for the wicked. || 9 ||

Commentary.— If Mercury is in the ninth house Navamabhava: the house of fortune, dharma, and father, the person will be righteous and exceptionally wise. He will be one who bathes in the banks of the Bhagirathi The Ganges River or one who attains the status of an initiate Dikshita by performing sacrifices and rituals. He will be as famous within his family as the sun. He will be more powerful and majestic than a king. He will cause distress to wicked people.
