Commentary.— If Mercury is in the tenth house The house of career and public life, the person will be very soft-spoken. However, they will acquire limitless wealth. They may display certain eccentricities or faults similar to those of a king, yet they will remain worthy of worship among the people. They shall inherit their father's property through legal power or official authority.
Commentary.— If Mercury is in the eleventh house The house of gains and social circles, the person will enjoy profits, physical beauty, and freedom from debt. The commentary here interprets the verse's rhetorical questions as positive outcomes. However, it is suggested they may not have a daughter. They will acquire so much wealth that even after giving much away, the desires of the Brahmins The priestly class will not be fully satisfied.
The "Son of the Moon" is a traditional name for the planet Mercury.
Commentary.— For one who has Mercury in the twelfth house The house of loss and liberation, many poor Brahmins will visit his home. He will experience victory over his enemies in battle. His wealth and resources will be enjoyed even by his enemies.
