Belonged to Cardinal Domenico Grimani of Venice (born 1461, died 1523), the owner of the famous Grimani Breviary at Venice and of a great library.
An ornate engraved bookplate features two oval coats of arms side-by-side beneath a single coronet. The left shield displays three fleurs-de-lis, representing the arms of France. The right shield is quartered with complex heraldic designs. The shields are encircled by a lush wreath of flowers and foliage tied with a ribbon at the bottom. Below the illustration is an inscription in elegant cursive script.
