A 3
Among the rest of the sins with which the perfection of God is most of all displeased in the corruption of man, there is none (I suppose) more distasteful or detestable to His purity than this damnable and devilish sin of witchcraft. This is because it seems to make an eternal separation and an irreconcilable divorce between the pure mercies of God and the tainted souls of such miserable people. For the most part, as they are of the lowest original: "meanest" and the basest sort in both birth and upbringing, they are the most incapable of any instruction to the contrary and of all good means to reclaim them.
