Mars has the governance of the third month from the casting of the seed into the womb. And it is the planet of audacity, strength, and heat. When in the third month Mars is in its ascension, it signifies audacity and the fulfillment of deeds with boldness. The child will be strong, prone to anger, and light of body. He will seek out disputes and provoke them quickly without fear; nor will he repent for anything he has done. And if, in addition to this, Mars is in its apogee, the child will be an initiator of wars and battles, and a sower of discord after peace has been made—especially if Mars is in its own house or term, and in Scorpio. But if, with Mars thus disposed, the birth is nocturnal, the child will be a master of wars and movements, and bold in all things; nor will he be able to endure injuries. And if the birth is diurnal, the child will be wrathful, great of heart, a shedder of blood, of little mercy, of a harsh will, high-minded, and boasting excessively of himself. And if Mars is in the house or term of Jupiter, it signifies that the child's audacity and strength will be tempered with sense, and he will act with deliberation and knowledge, even avoiding wars, treasons, and things that are without cause. But if, with this, Mars is in its own house or term with the Dragon's Tail The South Node of the Moon, usually considered a malefic influence, the child will be a fool and will throw stones at men; he will have an evil and shameful nickname, and thinking on this, he will quickly be provoked to anger and will throw stones at them.

The Sun has governance over the fourth month from the casting of the seed into the womb. And it is the planet of height, sublimity, beauty, strength, and victory above all other planets. Therefore, when in the fourth month the Sun is in its own house, or its exaltation, triplicity, or face, or if other planets receive it, it signifies the completion of the limbs and their perfection, beauty, virtue, and the growth of the body. The child will be strong of body and in all limbs. By the virtue of his strength, he will quickly be able to conquer wild beasts and destroy them, and break hard stones. And if the Sun is in the house or term of Mars, the child will have audacity along with his strength and perfection in all his limbs; he will be magnanimous, by reason of which he will wish to be believed wealthy, and without cause he will take things from men and will scarcely have enough for his own affairs. And if the Sun is in the house or term of Mercury, or is pushed and received by him, the child will be wise and joyful, and his strength will be joined with art, genius, and knowledge—especially if the Sun is in Gemini, because there it is greatly strengthened by its ascent. Therefore, when in the fifth month Venus is in its ascension and in its own house—especially in Taurus—a child born from the first hour of the day until the third will have a beautiful face, complete limbs, a grand appearance, a ruddy complexion, and will be joyful, provoking men to laughter with his words. He will also be full of mercy, a seeker of beautiful things, and will adorn himself in the manner of women. And if, with this, Venus is in the face of Mars at the hour of the casting of the seed, a child born from the 4th hour until the 6th will have yellow hair and variegated eyes; he will be beautiful and sublime without fear, not restraining his anger. And if Venus is in the face of Saturn at the hour of the casting of the seed into the womb, a child born from the 7th hour until the ninth will be white, of a subtle color, beautiful in appearance, with curly hair; dry and thin of body, prone to much sickness, a traveler, and retaining injuries done to him in his breast; astute, fearing God little, a robber of others' goods, and ready to do evil. Mercury has the governance of the sixth month from the casting of the seed into the womb. And it is the planet of doctrine, eloquence, and knowledge. When in the 6th month Mercury is in its ascension, the child will be of good eloquence, and his words will please men; he will be a secretary to great and powerful men. Easily, on slight occasion and without premeditation, he will provoke laughter; and this will be stronger if Mercury is in its own house or term. And if, with Mercury thus disposed, Jupiter looks upon it, he will be most eloquent, wise in books, and a wonderful orator, saying much upon a single word. And if Mercury is in the house or term of Jupiter, he will be of good eloquence, wise, and of subtle genius. And if Mercury is in the house or term of Venus, he will be wonderful in speech and tongue, mild in word, and one who will frequently ask questions. And if Mercury is in the house or term of Saturn, the child will be of a hindered tongue, so that he cannot explain his words well; yet he will be of sound thought and good intellect. But if Mercury, thus disposed, is in its descent, the child will be as if mute, especially if it is placed in signs lacking a voice.

The Moon has the governance of the 7th month from the casting of the seed into the womb. And it is the planet that completes the limbs of the child and his perfection. When, therefore, one is born in that month, he will be complete in limbs because of the fulfillment of the planets' significations. And if the birth is delayed until the eighth month, the governance passes to Saturn. Those born in that month come out dead, or will die quickly. And if the birth is delayed until the ninth month, the governance returns to Jupiter; and he is the planet of life and movement; therefore the wind of Jupiter will move the child of God, the boy, and bring him forth into the world.
