An action is auspicious when performed on the day of a planet situated in an "Upachaya" term: Upachaya (houses of increase/growth in a horoscope) position. However, if the planet is not in such a position, the action will not succeed even with the use of its corresponding gemstone. || 12 ||
Now, for the purpose of determining the specific duties of the moment, the Hora term: Hora (an hour-long duration ruled by a specific planet) is explained:
Take the distance in "Yojanas" term: Yojana (a traditional unit of distance, approx. 8 miles) between one's own location and the central meridian original: "madhya rekha", subtract one quarter, and with that many "Palas" term: Pala (a unit of time, 1/60th of a Ghatika), add or subtract from the 15 "Tithis" term: Tithi (lunar day) depending on whether one is to the West or East. || 13 ||
