In Ashvini, one should perform journeys, administer medicine, put on ornaments, pursue education, crafts, and arts. Work involving elephants, marriage rites, and auspicious ceremonies should also be conducted. (16)
In Bharani, one should perform daring or violent acts, the destruction of enemies, the use of poisons, and binding. The digging of wells and activities involving fire should also be carried out. (17)
In Krittika, one should always perform daring acts and the maintenance of sacred fires Agni-parigraha. The slaying of enemies, marriage, and works involving iron or fire-drills Arani are also done. (18)
In Rohini, one should perform nourishing rites Paushtika: rituals intended to increase wealth, health, or prosperity, engage in debates, and the collection of wealth. Building palaces, divine service, auspicious ceremonies, and wearing ornaments are favored. (19)
Marriage, the thread ceremony Upanayana, and journeys are auspicious in Mrigashirsha. The installation of deities, architecture, and work in the fields or with water will meet with success. (20)
In Ardra, one should engage in conflict, killing, cutting, and slaughter. The use of poison, treaties, fire-rituals, and fierce acts of exorcism Uchhatana are likewise performed. (21)
Pacification rites Shantika: rituals to avert evil or misfortune, nourishing rites, journeys, and matters concerning land, architecture, or vows should be done. Work with vehicles, agriculture, and education are prescribed in Punarvasu. (22)
Actions suited for both moving and fixed signs, pacification rites, nourishing rituals, and festivals—except for marriage—all other tasks should be performed in the mansion of Pushya. (23)
In Ashlesha, one should carry out the destruction of enemies, commerce, and daring acts. Deeds involving poison or snakes, theft, and deceitful conduct should be practiced. (24) 14
