Count from the birth constellation Nakshatra to the sign occupied by the Sun, multiplied by thirty (30). Alternatively, subtract the Sun's position at birth from the current solar position in signs and degrees original: "rashyadina vina shodhitam". Or: from the birth Sun's position, multiply by thirty (30); the result, minus four, becomes the Sun's Dasha period. Starting from there, the periods of the Moon and other planets are to be counted in sequence. Or: the Sun's position from the beginning of the zodiac, multiplied by thirty and increased by three in each quarter, gives the days of the Sun's Year-Dasha.
In the groups of three or four constellations, for the remaining portion of the hundred-year life expectancy Shatayushi: the Dasha of the planet is obtained by the sequence starting from Ardra the 6th Nakshatra. The wise should calculate this proportionally for each constellation. The elapsed time nadis/ghatis of that constellation is multiplied by the Dasha period and divided by the total duration of the constellation. The result is the "elapsed Dasha." Subtracting this from the total proportional Dasha gives the "remaining Dasha" to be experienced.
For example: In the group of four starting from Uttarabhadrapada to Bharani, the Dasha of Rahu the North Node is 12 years. If the total duration of Uttarabhadrapada is 57 units, and the proportional Dasha is 3 years, and 16 units have elapsed: 16 multiplied by 3 and divided by 57 equals 1 year elapsed. Subtracting this from the 3-year proportional Dasha leaves 2 years of Uttarabhadrapada Dasha remaining. This logic should be applied everywhere.
4
Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17, Ketu 7, Venus 20. These are the standard year allocations for the Vimshottari Dasha system totaling 120 years. These follow the order starting from the Krittika constellation.
The total sum is 120 years, starting with the Sun.
The elapsed time of the birth constellation is subtracted from the total life expectancy to find the remaining life span. From this life span, one calculates the 1. Major Period Mahadasha, 2. Sub-period Antardasha, 3. Sub-sub period Pratyantardasha, 4. Precise period Sukshmadasha, and 5. Life-force period Pranadasha.
The calculation logic: Divide the life span by twenty parts. Sun's Dasha is 6, Moon is 10, Mars is 7, Ketu is 7, Venus is 20, Sun/Moon/Mars combinations... The text here lists numerical shorthand for planetary years: Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17, Ketu 7, Venus 20. In this way, the periods for the year (360 days), month (30 days), and day should be calculated.
Regarding the time of the Yearly Solar Return Varshapravesha: When the Sun returns to the exact position (sign/degree/minute) it occupied at the moment of birth, that specific time and day is known as the Year Entry. Similarly for the Monthly Return: When the Sun reaches the same degree in any subsequent month/sign, that is the Month Entry.
The sequence of birth constellations: 1. Birth Janma, 2. Wealth Sampat, 3. Danger Vipat, 4. Prosperity Kshema, 5. Obstacle Pratyari, 6. Achievement Sadhana, 7. Destruction Nidhana...
