...this is practiced. || 4 || Alternatively, we shall explain the portion of the hand likely a reference to a specific calculation method or diagram by dividing the time-measures of the lunar mansions by ten.
The planetary period should be known in this way, having been purified. || 7 || Alternatively, one should divide the time-measure of the birth mansion by the maximum lifespan of 108; the result obtained should be subtracted from the maximum lifespan of 108, and the remainder will be the clear lifespan. || 1 || The word "Lifespan 108"
divided by 18 gives 6; this is declared as the period of the Sun original: "Ravi". That of Rahu the North Node is double that, being 12. For Mars original: "Kuja", it is 8 years and 2 months, being reduced by its own fraction. For the Moon original: "Indu", it is declared as 15, being increased by its own half. For Saturn original: "Shani", the period is known as 17. For Mercury original: "Budha", it is 22, being increased by half of Saturn's value. For Venus original: "Indra-pala/Shukra", it is 30, being increased by half of Mars and others. For Jupiter original: "Deva-guru", it is 19, or if the Sun and Moon are in conjunction, the period for Jupiter becomes 21. || 4 || Now, the method for calculating the major period, sub-period, sub-sub-period, and breath-period the hierarchical divisions of time: Dasha, Antardasha, Sukshma Dasha, and Prana Dasha within the 108-year lifespan is stated. From the total lifespan divided by eighteen, the Sun's period is produced as six. The result multiplied by the specific planetary period values gives the sub-periods. || 1 || Lifespan 108 divided by 18 yields 6; this is the Sun's period.
The Sun's period is stated as six. For the seven planets from the Moon to Venus, the major periods are 12 years, etc., as stated by the Sage. Thus, for the Sun's 108-year scale, the result is 6; the division yields months etc. as 4, 0, 0, 1 for the Sun's
own sub-period. Multiplied by 6, the days etc. are 2, 0, 0, 1. For Mercury's period, multiplied by 5, it is 300; divided by thirty,
the Moon's sub-period within the Sun is 1 month, 0, 0. In this way, the sub-periods of others should also be calculated. Thus the sub-periods...

The sub-period is to be known by the division of the major period. The sub-sub-period is to be known by the division of the sub-period. The Sun's breath-period is calculated by the division of the Sun's sub-sub-period; likewise, the breath-periods of the Moon and others
etc.
are to be known. || Thus, by the division of the major periods of the Moon etc., the sub-periods of the Sun etc. are calculated. By adding the previous totals, the sub-periods of the Moon within the Moon's major period are established. Alternatively, the period multiplied by
the lifespan and divided by the maximum lifespan of 108 gives the result in years, etc., for each planet in order.
Alternatively: one's own period multiplied by another's period and divided in sequence gives the months and days for the sub-periods. || 7 || Alternatively, the sub-periods are produced from the major periods... calculated in years as six, as told by the sky-watchers. || 8 || Ashtottari Dasha A specific system of planetary periods totaling 108 years, starting from the lunar mansion Ardra.
Bhagiratha explains the sequence: The Sun's period is 6 years starting from Ardra; then the Moon for 15 years starting from Magha; Mars for 8 years; Mercury for 17 years; Saturn for 10 years; Jupiter for 19 years; Rahu for 12 years; and Venus for 21 years. Thus, the years total 108.
Calculating the months and days by assuming the maximum lifespan is 108, the Sun's period is clearly 6 when divided by 18.

It is doubled for Rahu; for Mars, it is reduced by its own fraction, and so on; the periods in years and days should be calculated.
This is the method for the sequence of the 108-year planetary periods. May it be auspicious.
