Four square astrological diagrams containing planetary abbreviations and numerical data corresponding to the Tajika Yogas listed above.
Four additional square astrological diagrams illustrating specific planetary combinations.
Now begins the sequence of the "Elapsed Period" Bhukta-dasha: the portion of a planetary period that has already passed at the time of birth or inquiry. Here is written the method for the "Hundred-Year Cycle" Shatayur-dasha: a system of time-lords where the total human lifespan is calculated as 100 years.
Salutations to the Illustrious Ganesha.
The elapsed time in ghatikas a unit of time equal to 24 minutes is multiplied by the specific planetary period. When divided by the sky-directions the number 40, the result is obtained. For the Sun, the value is 58; when doubled, it pertains to the Moon. For Mars, the value is 82 years and 13 days. For Jupiter, the value is 3; for Saturn, 5 years and 2 months. For Mercury, the value is 52 minutes and 7 seconds. For Venus, the period is 9 years. For Rahu the North Node of the Moon, the value is 8 years and 11 months. In this manner, the various sub-periods are calculated to determine the precise lifespan, such as 35 years.
Regarding the four "Cold Signs" watery signs, if there is an opposition, the calculation changes. From the initial ghatikas, the Sun's portion is 11 and the Moon's is 55. Multiplying the daily movement by 20, the result for the "Hundred-Year" calculation is 54. This method of calculating the elapsed and remaining time for each planetary period based on the movement of the constellations was spoken by the sage Bhagiraya.
Alternatively, multiply the planetary period by the elapsed time of the current Nakshatra lunar mansion and divide by the total duration of that Nakshatra. The result provides the elapsed time in years and months. From this, the remaining period to be experienced is determined...
