After multiplying each of the divisional periods original: "vargadashāḥ"; these are specific time periods assigned to subdivisions of a zodiac sign individually, the sum of the periods produced from the fractional squares of them is divided by the Vighatikas A Vighatika is a unit of time equal to 24 seconds which were set aside as the divisor in the previous verse. The resulting quotient gives the years of each respective period.
The remainder should be multiplied by twelve and so on, just as before, to determine the months and further units. At the end of the calculation, the values for Ghatis and Palas Traditional Indian units of time: 1 Ghati = 24 minutes; 1 Pala = 24 seconds represent the final figures for each respective period.
