The declination original: "Kranti" of a planet is to be calculated. From the precession-corrected longitude original: "Sayana", one must determine the sine-arc original: "Bhuja". Then, multiply the zodiacal signs by three and add the remaining degrees. Take a tenth part of this value. Then, the sum of the corresponding sine-table segments original: "Khandas" should be calculated. Following this, multiply the remaining portion of the current segment by the current sine-arc and divide by ten. Add this result to the previous sum. This total, when divided by ten, yields the declination in degrees and minutes. This method for finding declination is universal. Here is a verse in agreement with this rule: 1 2 =
The segments are: 10, 20, 37, 34, 20, 25, 16, 9, and 4. From the precession-corrected planet, within the 90-degree arc of the sine, sum these values. For the remainder, multiply and divide by ten to find the degrees.
When the precession-corrected planet is in the Southern Hemisphere, the declination is South; otherwise, it is North. Signs = 2Divided by 10, the degrees of declination are found. In the same way, according to one's own hemisphere: 11, 40, 80, 117, 151, 181, 206, 227, 236, 240.
From the precession-corrected position, the degrees are found. The remainder is divided by 10 and added to the sum.
The declination will be in its own direction. By using the precession-corrected planet's sine-arc degrees, the sum of segments is found. The remaining sine-arc segment is added to the degrees, or 90 degrees is the limit for declination. For easy calculation, multiply the precession-corrected sine-arc by 18 and subtract ten.
Now, the rule for finding the sine-arc inversely from the declination = 2 Small segments = 2Subtracting from the base, divide by 72. The result, multiplied by twenty and divided by four and a half, gives the degrees of declination in its own hemisphere. From that half declination, multiply the remainder by 15. This, combined with the segment sine-arc count of 6, results in the degrees of the sine-arc.
