The speech of the holy Brahma had fallen into a state of unconsciousness, as it were, due to its hidden and obscure meanings.
To revive it, the three-branched ocean of Astral Science Jyotisha, comprising mathematical astronomy, horoscopy, and samhita/omens has been churned with great effort.
Now, let the wise on earth drink this nectar of the "Science Commentary" Vijnana-bhashya spoken by Ramaswarupa, which is faultless and desired by the most excellent among the learned. || 4 ||

Scientific Commentary — Mahadeva (Lord Shiva) is victorious (exists in supreme excellence). What is He like? His feet are streaked with the luster of the jewels in the crowns of the gods and demons who bow to Him (the two feet of Him are mingled with the lights and lusters of the diamonds and other gems located in the head-crowns of the gods and demons who are prostrate with bowed heads). Furthermore, what is He like? He is the agent of the creation, maintenance, and dissolution of the universe (the creator of the world's origin or manifestation, its maintenance or preservation, and its dissolution or destruction). By this, it is established that Brahmagupta accepts Mahadeva as the Supreme Lord Ishvara, because the power to cause the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe cannot exist in anyone other than the Supreme Lord. This subject is related to the systems of Philosophy Darshana-shastra, therefore there is no need for a specific investigation of it here. || 1 ||
Hindi Commentary — The two feet of Mahadeva are mixed with the light of the jewels (diamonds, etc.) situated on the heads of the bowing gods and demons; such a Mahadeva exists with all kinds of excellence. Furthermore, He is the doer of the world's creation, maintenance (state), and dissolution (destruction). From this statement of the teacher Brahmagupta, the divinity of Mahadeva is proved, because the power to create, maintain, and destroy the world cannot be in anyone other than God. This subject is related to the philosophy scriptures, so there is no need to consider it specially here. || 1 ||
That planetary mathematics spoken by Brahma, which has become loose inaccurate or corrupted over a great length of time,
Is now being stated clearly by Brahmagupta, the son of Jishnu. || 2 ||
Scientific Commentary — The planetary mathematics spoken by Brahma (the Brahma-siddhanta) which exists, has become "loose" over a great length of time; meaning, after many ages had passed, it reached a state of being obstructed or decayed. For that reason, it is being stated clearly (plainly, or devoid of that "looseness") by me, named Brahmagupta, the son of Jishnu.
Among the Brahma-siddhantas available now: one is included within the Shakalya-samhita; a second is a prose version within the Vishnudharmottara-purana; and a third, describing a five-year Yuga cycle, is included in the Pancha-siddhantika composed by Varahamihira. Among these, which one did Brahmagupta [follow]...
