The Hastijihva is in the right eye, and the Pusha is in the right ear. The Yashasvini is in the left ear, and the Alambusha is in the mouth. (39)

Meaning— One should know that the HastijihvaLiterally "Elephant's Tongue" resides in the right eye, the Pusha in the right ear, the Yashasvini in the left ear, and the Alambusha in the mouth. (39)

The Kuhu is in the region of the genitals, and the Shankhini is in the root-place (the anus). In this way, the ten channels remain supported by the gates of the body. (40)

Meaning— One should know the Kuhu is in the genital region and the Shankhini is in the area of the anus. In this manner, the ten nadisSubtle energy channels or nerves are situated within the openings of the body. (40)

The Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna are supported by the path of the breath. These ten channels are indeed established within the body. (41)

Meaning— The Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna—these three are dependent on the path of the PranaThe vital life-force or breath. These ten channels are situated in the middle of the body. (41)

I shall now speak of the names of the channels and the winds (airs). Prana, Apana, Samana, Udana, and Vyana. (42)

Meaning— I am stating the names of the VayusVital airs or internal winds that reside within the channels: they are Prana, Apana, Samana, Udana, and Vyana. (42)

Naga, Kurma, Krikala, Devadatta, and Dhananjaya. The Prana always dwells in the heart, and the Apana in the region of the anus. (43)

Meaning— Naga, Kurma, Krikala, Devadatta, and Dhananjaya are the five minor winds. The Prana-wind always dwells in the heart, and the Apana dwells in the region of the anus. (43)

The Samana is in the region of the navel, and the Udana moves in the middle of the throat.
