Mariemont, Edgbaston. Mariemont was the home of Sir Oliver Lodge in Edgbaston, Birmingham, while he served as the first Principal of the University of Birmingham.
Dear Wilson King,
Thank you for the book, which I am now returning. I had not seen it before. It contains a great deal of sense.
You will notice that its spine original: "back" is broken. I believe it was already in that condition when I received it.
The book I mentioned in my last letter was much larger, not as serious, and featured many illustrations—it was a very curious production.
I see that many of the anecdotes in your book correspond to like those events and details that happen today, and which I suppose have happened in every age.
