The "Remedy" row indicates items to be placed in the oil to neutralize bad effects on specific days (e.g., adding a flower on Sunday).
This rule applies specifically to sesame oil. Mustard oil, however, is not considered "oil" in this context meaning it is exempt from these prohibitions, nor is scented oil considered the same as plain oil. Massaging with such oils is not harmful on any day.
Now, regarding the commencement of the weekday: The sages state that the start of the day is determined by subtracting or adding the minutes derived from the difference in terrestrial longitude and the half-duration of the day/night from the exact moment of sunrise. This is the precise method. The general method is that the weekday begins fifteen ghatikas approximately 6 hours after the midpoint of the night.
Regarding the Planetary Hours (Kala-hora): The hours elapsed from the start of the day are multiplied by two and five. The lords of the hours follow the sequence of the eighth, sixth, and so on. For example, after the Sun comes Venus, and after Venus comes the Moon. It is said that auspicious deeds should be performed during the appropriate planetary hour of the day.
