The place is commonly referred to as Vatasreni Sanskrit: "Row of Banyan Trees," known in Malayalam as Alattur. This detail is mentioned by him in many of his works.
"Residing to the north of the confluence of the blue ocean The Arabian Sea," he states regarding his own country while composing his own commentary on the Surya Siddhanta The "Sun Treatise," a foundational text of Indian astronomy.
At the conclusion of his commentary on the Goladipika "Light on the Sphere":
"In a village eighteen yojanas A measure of distance, roughly 8-9 miles per unit west of the Prime Meridian,
at a latitude measured by six plus six ...?"
Paramesvara describes his homeland in detail, stating he lived in a place eighteen yojanas from the Prime Meridian The meridian of Ujjain at a northern latitude of 10° 47'.
Regarding Paramesvara's parents, no details are available. However, he mentions in many places that his teacher's name was Rudra. Similarly, during his commentary on the Goladipika, the scholar Nilakantha Somayaji proclaims:
"Paramesvara, having properly grasped the logic of mathematics and the celestial sphere even in his childhood from the masters of the sphere such as Rudra, Paramesvara’s son Narayana, Madhava, and others..."
Through this, details regarding Paramesvara's teacher are obtained. Paramesvara himself mentions during his commentary on the present text that his grandfather was a pupil of Govinda, the author of the Muhurtaratna The Jewel of Electional Astrology.
This Paramesvara himself mentions the time of his work's composition in his own Drg-ganita "Computation in accordance with observation": "Thus, this Drg-ganita was composed in the Shaka year 1353 1431 CE." Furthermore, in the Goladipika:
He specifies the composition date as "In the Shaka year 1365 1443 CE." This Paramesvara, having reflected day and night for fifty-five years and having proven it through many observations, discovered the new system of Drg-ganita astronomy; Paramesvara himself states in his commentary on the Mahabhaskariya that this work reached completion in the year 1431 AD.
