Om! Salutations to the Holy Lord Ganesha.
The gods—Vishnu, Gauri, and Maheshwara Shiva—spoke of the Bliss of the Lords of Yoga. May prosperity reside in this house forever. || 1 ||
The god who is the son of the Mountain Daughter Parvati, the one-tusked lord who is worshipped in the heart, who removes all obstacles. His body is adorned by a serpent, the son of Shiva, the embodiment of success and wisdom, worshipped by the leaders of the serpent-race, the granter of all perfections. || 2 ||
He whom Indra, the Wind, and the Sun bow to repeatedly, who is the form of great bliss. He who dwells at the root of speech and is the Lord of all. May that ever-gracious one, the universal-formed protector of the worlds, bestow wealth upon us. || 3 ||
He who carries a water-pot, a weapon, and a bow; who holds in the palm of his hand a book and the thread of knowledge the measuring cord; who is mounted upon a swan, three-eyed, and many-faced. He by whom this entire triple-world was created, from the palaces of the serpent-kings to the palaces of earthly kings. May that God, the holder of weapons and the benefactor of the entire universe, Vishvakarma the divine architect, protect you all. || 4 ||
This science of architecture Vastu Shastra provides men and women with the means of birth, wealth, and the fulfillment of desires. It is the source of joy for the eyes and the abode of happiness; the wise call it the path of Dharma. Whether in step-wells or temples, all merit is achieved through the home. The wise understand the house through the rising of Lord Vishvakarma. || 5 ||

...the Knower. || 6 ||
In the month of Chaitra, it causes sorrow; in [Vaishakha], it brings wealth; in Jyeshtha, it brings death; in Ashadha, it brings loss of purity; in Shravana, it brings gain of servants and wealth. In Bhadrapada, it brings loss; in Ashvin, it brings quarrels; in Kartika, it brings gain of grain; in Magha, it brings fire; and in Phalguna, it brings prosperity. || 7 || This verse describes the astrological results of starting house construction in different lunar months.
When the Sun is in Aries, one gains wealth; in Gemini, death; in Leo, increase of servants; in Libra, great happiness; in Sagittarius, loss; in Aquarius, gain of gold. || 8 ||
...one should not perform work when the Sun is in Virgo, Pisces, or Sagittarius... Gemini is auspicious for the desired work. || 9 ||
From Virgo onwards for three signs, the South is avoided; from Sagittarius onwards, the West is avoided; from Pisces, the North; and from Gemini, the East. This refers to the "rotation" of the Vastu Purusha or the earth-spirit throughout the year.
Because a door facing the wrong direction causes ruin, while a well-placed door brings beauty and benefit to the householder. || 9 ||
When the Sun rises in Aries, Taurus, or Gemini, it is the East. When it stays in the middle of Chitra and Swati Lunar mansions/Nakshatras, the East is said to be five-fold. Building palaces, gardens, or cities when the directions are confused leads to the destruction of wealth. In a house or a city, wealth is lost if the orientation is incorrect. || 10 ||
