It is associated with the color black. It consists of five stars arranged in the shape of a cart the "wain" or chariot shape in the constellation Taurus. It belongs to the human category Manushya Gana: a classification in Vedic astrology. Its presiding deity is the Moon's sphere, its tree is the Jamun Java Plum, and its sound is the vowel 'A'. Its bird is the swan, its animal yoni is the serpent, its deity is Lord Brahma, and its caste is Brahmin. It is a four-legged and upward-facing star. It is considered a "blind" star Andhakalochana: a technical term for stars with specific visual potencies in astrology and a fixed star.
After forty ghatikas one ghatika is 24 minutes, the "poisonous moments" begin. If one avoids these and travels, it brings success in all directions. If a fever begins under this star, it lasts for seven days and brings misfortune. Results of combinations with lunar days and weekdays:
On the 7th and 11th lunar days, it results in "Destruction yoga." On the Nanda days, it is "Life-giving yoga." On the 13th and 10th days of the bright fortnight, it is "Cruel yoga." If the planet Saturn is positioned in this star, it creates the "Great Spear" yoga. In the month of Chaitra March-April, it is considered "void" or empty. If unusual celestial omens appear in this star, it predicts plenty of food and good health for the land. If the Sun enters a new sign under this star, the results are mediocre.
A girl who reaches puberty under this star will be blessed with many sons, good character, wealth, grains, and a long, happy married life.
