The Qualities of the Jyeshtha Star are Examined.

Under this star, wrestlers and great men are born. Travel should be avoided, but if one eats sesame rice, travel toward the South-West is auspicious. If a fever begins under this star, there is a danger to life. Alternatively, one should perform a pacification ritual original: "Shanti" for the form of the month: invoke the deity Indra, who is yellow-colored, two-armed, and holds the thunderbolt and the goad, into a golden idol. During the Sun's transit, prices are middling. A girl who reaches puberty under this star will have good sons, but a pacification ritual should be performed for the latter half of the duration.

This star is excellent for: piercing the ears, thievery, using poison or fire, black magic original: "Abhichara," rituals intended to harm enemies, war with enemies, gambling, difficult legal disputes, practicing with weapons, exorcising spirits, preparing talismans and yantras, acquiring female servants or laborers, stealing others' property, and the buying and selling of cattle.

Qualities of one born under this star:
Dark-complexioned body, having many sons, inclined toward friendship, possessing a sturdy body, a speaker of truth, firm in action, female restless, very learned, having a long nose, and possessing a mole or a fish-shaped mark on the private parts.

Qualities of the Quarters (Padas):

• First Quarter (Jupiter): Part of the "bitter" division Ghu. A writer, humorous, and proud.
• Second Quarter (Saturn): A fierce division. Always talkative and sickly.
• Third Quarter (Saturn): A sinful division. Deformed limbs, somewhat of a pleasure-seeker, slow-witted, but devoted to the work of others.
