Salutations to the Lord Ganesha. In the Treta Age, thirty-three hundred thousand years ago, the Ocean of Yoga came into existence. || 2 ||
Bhrigu spoke: In the age of the Vedas, whether by birth or by inquiry, one who understands the measure of planetary combinations yogas becomes the performer of all successful deeds. || 3 ||

If Saturn is in its exaltation original: "tunge" in the sign of Sagittarius, and the Sun is joined with Mars in Aries, and if Venus, Jupiter, or Mercury are also joined, the person becomes honored by kings and very wealthy. Such a person is stout, a donor, rich, possessing excellent gold, and filled with many gems. He approaches kings in the evening, has many sons and servants, and enjoys a long, delightful life. || 11 ||
This combination arises because of deeds performed previously in the "House of Hari" likely referring to a temple or a specific spiritual act dedicated to Vishnu. Because of this, he attains happiness in this life, becoming wealthy and honored by royalty. || 12 ||
He is born endowed with sons, grandsons, and so on—of this there is no doubt. However, in old age, great sorrow will certainly come from those same sons and grandsons. || 13 || Because he did not complete the "House of Hari" in the past, he is thus troubled.
Shukra spoke: What is the prayer to be chanted? Whose worship should be done? What should be given in charity, and what is the medicine? || 14 ||
Bhrigu spoke: One should chant the seven-syllable mantra of Saturn, and the six-syllable mantra Shrim Hrim. After chanting each two thousand times, wealth should then be given. || 15 ||
Seven tankas of silver and the same of gold; a copper vessel weighing thirty palas filled with clarified butter ghee; a bull, a goat, land, and cows should be given to a Brahmin. || 16 || One should also arrange for the gift of land in one's own country with full faith. By the performance of these gifts, one becomes free from disease and happy.
