"One should perform the act according to half the merit, giving gifts according to one's own ability. (57) In the event of a miscarriage or upon hearing of such a loss, one should perform the merit-making ritual according to the Tantras ritual manuals. Then, sons and wealth will be fully obtained; of this there is no doubt. If the lord of the fourth or eighth house is a malefic planet or joined with malefics; or if the Sun is in the sixth or eighth house, or in an enemy's sign, and malefic planets are in malefic houses: (62) But if Jupiter is in a quadrant, a trine, exalted, or in its own house, then in the case of Bhishmaka likely the name of the seeker or a specific astrological profile, happiness and prosperity will arise without a doubt. (63) In a previous life, this person performed service at holy pilgrimage sites and repeatedly served the sages. They performed worship of the gods and showed devotion to the twice-born Brahmins in that birth. (64) Consequently, they are happy, a performer of good deeds, righteous, and possessed of many sons. They enjoy life with many women and are intelligent and discerning. (65) They are a generous giver at heart, wealthy, and a leader among the affluent. When thirty years have passed, great happiness will surely arise. (66) They will be a king or honored by kings, equal to Kubera the god of wealth. However, after the fortieth year, suffering will arise. (67) Pain arising from 'blood-wind' likely a circulatory or rheumatic condition and the influence of 'royal disease' will manifest. Diseases such as cough and asthma will occur repeatedly. (68) One moment there is health, and the next moment suffering; the person becomes emaciated. (69)
