Treatise on Divination by Omens

The Science of Divination by Touch.

Conflict will arise, and wealth will be lost,
Wives too shall become enemies, and laziness will grow,
O friend original: "madhayi"; literally 'O mother/woman', often used as a poetic address, no one will believe your words,
Mental distress will occur, and wisdom will decline,
Obstacles will come to the work you strive for,
And diseases shall manifest within your body.

(Prose explanation): The matter you intended will not happen. Wealth will be lost. Bodily laziness will arise and illness will occur. Your wife will also become your enemy. The trade you perform will leave your hands. This is mediocre madhyamam original: "malthipam"; indicates a result that is average to unfavorable. (10)

Hear the reason for touching with certainty
The renowned number one hundred and thirty-three:
There is no fault; the elders will be of help to you,
Behold, the matters you intended are drawing near,
O friend, you shall conquer your enemies completely,
There is no fear; this is the time of victory,
For your clan deity kula devata who is reached through great penance,
Offer worship with goodness and make your plea.

(Prose explanation): The matter you intended will be a success. Help from elders will be obtained. You will conquer those who are your enemies. Therefore, worship and pray to your clan deities. This is excellent uttamam original: "utthamam"; the most favorable category of divinatory results. (11)
