(Meaning:) From the first day of the waxing moon Pūrva-pakṣa: the bright fortnight: on the 1st day she is in the East; 2nd in the North; 3rd in the South-East (Agni); 4th in the South-West (Niruti); 5th in the South; 6th in the West; 7th in the North-West (Vayu); 8th in the North-East (Ishanya); 9th in the Sky (Akasha); 10th in the Underworld (Patala). This Yogini A directional energy or deity whose location shifts daily standing in front or to the left of a person is bad for any endeavor; if she is behind or to the right, it is considered good. This is the meaning.
First: Rohini, Ardra, Pushya, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Shravana, Dhanishta, and Shatabhisha. These are auspicious "Upward-facing" Urdhva-mukha: stars favorable for things that grow tall or rise stars. In these, it is beneficial to perform the planting of pillars Stambha-pratishtha, coronations, entering a new job, visiting royalty, starting a business, installing jewelry, placing the main beams or pillars for upper floors, raising flags, and planting groves or halls. Doing these auspicious deeds will lead to great prosperity.
Second: Ashwini, Mrigashirsha, Punarvasu, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, and Revati. These are "Forward-facing" Tiryang-mukha: stars favorable for horizontal movement or expansion stars. In these, it is excellent to buy land for cultivation, purchase cows, oxen, buffaloes, horses, elephants, or goods, start plowing with the golden plow, sow seeds, build sheds for cattle, go on journeys, dig lakes or canals, and build embankments for fields.
Third: Bharani, Krittika, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Vishakha, Mula, Purva Ashadha, and Purva Bhadrapada. These are "Downward-facing" Adho-mukha: stars favorable for things going into the ground stars. In these, it is excellent to bury treasures, lay foundations, dig wells, ponds, or moats, dig pits for doorways, hide wealth, plant root vegetables, and perform the ritual "conch-installation" Shanku-sthapana: a foundational ritual for a new building. Among these, the first watch Yama: a 3-hour period is watery, the second watch is joyful, and the third watch is inferior. The twilight and nighttime should be avoided.
