The Chapter on Good and Evil Omens

For those who contemplate in their hearts the desire for a woman of fine jewels original: "kāriḻai" - a poetic term for a woman adorned with dark or precious ornaments,
The confusion of the mind and its qualities will increase in four ways;
Seeing the moon rise and clash, rejecting the wicked honey-like words,
The teacher’s wisdom does not go toward the path of the mountain forest. (1) 1

Because the path of the four is spoken of in a good way,
Even if I go and approach many tasks that are not great,
If the Primordial Sound original: "Pranava" - the sacred syllable Om remains mixed without separation,
Listen, O lady with the mouth of a sounding flute, the truth will be known. (2) 2

All those who come seeking to attain a truly good thing,
Will ask the powerful King of Kings for victory;
If the one who clarifies is a great teacher, excellence will surely follow,
Otherwise, O lady, one will only come crying, trapped in a face of distress. (3) 3

In this way, if one asks while standing in the place of the righteous,
Even if things seem lost or false, they will return as a blessing;
This is the truth; if one listens to the superior signs,
The words spoken by the Ancient Lord of the Vedas will never fail. (4) 4

The teacher’s bond to what was thought will surely be told tomorrow;
Take the constellation Rohini The fourth lunar mansion in Hindu astrology and discard the three that follow;
If a combined good deed is done, no obstacles will arise,
And one will remain on this earth like a mountain with thick branches, O lady. (5) 5

For five days it is four, and on the seventh day it is human;
The good things said to the face, if known beforehand, will be nine;
If the Five-Faced Lord Shiva ascends in prosperity, there is no ruin or loss;
O lady with the thick bangles, listen as I tell you this. (6) 6

Discarding the teacher’s wood and the cart in this field,
Greatness and goodness will remain on any day;
On that day, goodness will not perish, listen!
The omens will not fail, and one will live like Indra, the Lord of Heaven. (7) 7
