Cosmographic Book (Cosmographicus Liber)

This image shows the front cover of a historical manuscript. The cover is made of aged, yellowish brown parchment or vellum: a high-quality writing surface made from specially prepared calfskin. The material shows visible creases, stains, and signs of wear from centuries of handling. On the left side, the spine displays green staining and remnants of the original binding material.
