GIFT OF
BERN DIBNER
A bookplate for the Burndy Library is pasted onto a heavily foxed and wrinkled endpaper. The term foxing: age-related spots and browning on old paper caused by mold or metallic impurities describes the condition of the sheet. The bookplate features a red circular emblem containing a compass rose and a fleur-de-lis: a stylized lily symbol at the top. Above the bookplate, there is a faint, handwritten shelf mark: "D. 8. 45".
