Commentary: Divide the initial part of the day—referred to as the "Rising Period"—into three equal sections. If the desired time of the query falls within the first section of this initial part, the question pertains to Jiva Living beings, including humans and animals. In the second section of the initial part, the question relates to Dhatu Metals, minerals, or non-living materials. In the third section, the subject of the query is Mula Roots, plants, or vegetable matter. Furthermore, in the three subdivisions of the middle part of the day, the subjects follow the order of Dhatu, Mula, and Jiva. In the three subdivisions of the final part of the day, the subjects follow the order of Mula, Jiva, and Dhatu. In this manner, the entire duration of the day is effectively divided into nine distinct segments.

Commentary: If an "Embraced" original: "Alingita"; refers to a favorable or auspicious state of the breath or time query is made during an Embraced time-period, the result is Embraced—meaning one attains profit, happiness, and honor. If a "Smoldering" original: "Abhidhumita"; refers to a clouded or middling state type of query is made during an Embraced time, the result is Smoldering—meaning happiness and profit are obtained only in small measures. If a "Burnt" original: "Dagdha"; refers to an inauspicious or "consumed" state query is made during an Embraced time, a Burnt result is obtained—meaning the outcome is inauspicious and painful. || 29-31 ||
