Purpose of Beginning the Book

O Lord, the books collected by you that are circulating on this earth certainly shine for the delight of the wise. Having studied them, I, your wife, beg you to compose a new work on Women’s Horoscopy original: "Stri-Jatakam"; a branch of astrology focusing specifically on the lives and destinies of women which is capable of benefiting humanity. ॥ 1 ॥
