Previously, for the benefit of interpreting the birth charts of men, I authored the work titled Jyotish-Shyam-Sangraha A Compendium of Astrology by Shyam in the year 1896 original: Samvat 1953. This was published through the grace of Seth Gangavishnu Shrikrishnadas at the "Lakshmi Venkateshwar" Press in Bombay. Now, for the benefit of interpreting the fortunes of women, and with the assistance of the Great King of Kings, the Crest-Jewel of Heroes, the Pillar of Dharma, the Ruler of the Kahlur State and Lord of Bilaspur, His Excellence 108 Maharaja Vijay Chand Ji Dev, I am publishing this second work titled Strijataka Horoscopy of Women.
This work has been compiled from the treatises composed by ancient masters such as Vashistha, Vriddhayavana, Shaunaka, Garga, Pitamaha, Narapati, Shripati, Skanda, Varahamihira, Gunakara, Balabhadrasuri, Dhundhiraj, Bhrigu, Bharadwaj, Devakirti, Narada, Ganesh Daivajna, Ram Daivajna, and the contemporary Shyam Daivajna. I am publishing it along with a Hindi commentary named "Shyamsundari."
In this world, woman is the primary cause of physical happiness for man; indeed, the ancient masters have called woman the "Achiever of the Three Goals of Life" original: Trivargasadhini; referring to Virtue (Dharma), Wealth (Artha), and Pleasure (Kama). Those men in whose homes reside virtuous women live free from anxiety, enjoying all worldly comforts and attaining fame throughout their lives. Conversely, those men in whose homes reside ill-mannered or quarrelsome women suffer various miseries day and night throughout their lives and remain recipients of infamy in the world. This is as the ancient masters have stated:
